There is thin line between fantasy & reality...J.Verne

Poem Artwork

I popped out covered in sea weed,

The smell of brine when my mother did bleed,

My gills open sucking for oxygen,

Keep me warm in my mind I did plead…

From my beginnings I did swim like a fish,

My legs were fins, covered in scales,

As time passed I grew to live on the land,

Looking more & more each day like that of man…

The older I got the less I did remember,

Of my body being a part & parcel of the ocean,

I’ve always been attracted by the sand and sea,

If you look closely into my eyes, there you will see,

Salt water I cry remembering, therein you will know its definitely me…

Ed, I toss a little blessing almost every day to Mother Sea.
I think Bonnie pretty well said how I feel. Good one, friend.

Oh, this is beautifully penned, Ed, even a bit haunting ... homesick for the sea? Just don't rush things, okay? Love you, you're in my prayers ...

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

I'll never forget the day that old brother Edvard brought you home from the sea; you were such a cute little sea-weed covered guy. And I couldn't help it, I just had to feed you some flies!

PS I thought we had agreed to never reveal how we each began...

I'm tellin Ma.

Oh I love your writes of the sea for they are such a part of you. Hopefully someday you will have all memories of your beginning so you can share them with us. For the ocean still holds you and loves you that's why you go there so often, she's pulling you back. Great write Ed, Love, Bonnie
