Institutionalized…?

Poem Artwork

I’ve said it before,

And I’ll say it again,

Nutsy wacko I be,

In an institution you see,

Burned out beyond recognition,

Must have been inhaling,

All that nuclear fission…

 

Backed into a corner,

By a psychiatric foreigner,

Far be it for me,

To be less, for my sanity, a mourner…

 

But I find myself in this rubber room,

With only the company of what I ride, my broom,

All I need now is in a tux a groom,

If it wasn’t the fission, possibly it was eating the shrooms…?

Although I know this is a humorous write it also has its moments of true clarity. The jump between supposed sanity and mental illness is so small that most people do not even recognize they have crossed it...as for the shrooms, buddy I'd keep the meat and throw them out.
