What can be done, each one seems to be criticized more for not doing much of anything. when will a good one that satisfies everyone come along, i think never ever never ever ever, and i shouldn't say that.

Nice one Ed, though to some extent I agree with Jerry, we don't respect the office the way we once did. I think it started with the promiscuity of Kennedy. Once we overlooked that, it became a slippery slope right on through Nixon, Carter, Clinton, Bush II and now Obama. They became jokes on the late night talk shows, which then begins to erode the respect the office deserves even that much more.

I think the Eisenhower administration held much more respect than any since. Of course, that likely has more to do with the explosion in media coverage through TV and the internet, none of which existed, or were in their infancy in Eisenhower's and prior times.

He lasted too long. Monica's dress smear ought to have finished him off. America does not respect the office of the president anymore.
