The big bad blizzard,
So far here has been a bust,
The governor declared a state of emergency,
For as little as we’ve gotten is no more than that of dust,
It blew through here quick without so much as a wind gust…
The forecasters made such a big deal,
Then out from under their predictions the rug was pulled,
Mom Nature did show us that she was capable of out thinking,
The weather computer modules which are now burning up and stinking…
Better safe than sorry,
but the hews people,
always seem to exaggerate the story.
Sometimes they get it right,
but more often they're wrong.
Send those reporters out on the streets,
and let them sing a sad song.
Weather people are noted for exaggeration and miscalculation. I do believe they got some real storm up Nantucket and Boston way, but this feather duster did not shut down NYC, the mayor did.
The best missed weather I ever heard was, "Spent the whole morning shoveling 6 inches of partly cloudy off my driveway.
