The end of our world or a new beginning, you decide...?

It snowed like never before,
Blotting out the light of our world,
God may have sent it, but more likely a creature of the dark,
The landscape turned to a bright white & quite stark…

I was driving in my four- wheel drive camper,
Tired from many hours at the wheel,
But pull over and resting I could not allow,
I had to get out from under this weather that would of my life steal…

Finally forced was I into a rest area,
There was a building with restrooms & a diner,
I parked as close to it as I could, jumping out of the rig,
The wind was horrendous; I found it hard to against it walk…

I got to the building & found the door locked, closed?
With its lights glaring from inside & people moving about?
I could not figure this for some reason out,
So I stumbled through the snow back to the rig,
And there I stayed that night through the deluge of snow…

The next morning, less than 8 hours after my arrival,
The snow still blew & the world was totally covered,
Whoever sent this storm meant to end man’s earthly reign,
Under a blanket of snow, the parking lot showed no remnant,
Of man’s ugly world, no cars, nor people, the ice age had begun,
I found my camper with its height & four wheel drive could move,
So out of there I drove, albeit slowly, further west towards a rising sun…??

Overnight the poles did change polarity,
The north became south and vice versa,
We now existed in an arctic zone,
Many didn’t live while in their cars, not in their home…

Why I lived, I had no clue, but I was alive,
And had to move on; had to learn to live alone,
Few were left so to my dog I did talk,
No he never answered me, I wasn’t that far gone,
So don’t of me when reading this balk…
