ain't insomnia fun, NOT. Now and then reading does help me when insomnia strikes, I have not been a long night sleeper since I can remember. I think some of us just sleep less than others.
but, whatever your doctor suggests, I think I would give a try.
good luck! m

Thinking to much? Whatever the reason, try going to bed at same time, make your room as dark as you can...go to bed when tired and only when Tired...this will help establish your sleeping pattern also, ED.
I, too, know the occasional torture of insomnia but my doctor finally came up with the right combination that allows my mind to relax. I wish you all the luck in the world in finding a solution.
I read the comments. A lot of equating sex with sleep. They must be reading something that I'm not. From your new picture, you look good. Lately I've been sleeping fairly well. But then, I go to bed exhausted.
Apparently, you got a lot on your mind. Plus, all these body problems that keep cropping up when you are trying to sleep. I think the exercise is working. The experts say to go to sleep at the same time every night, turn off all lighting and sound, avoid eating anything hours before. It might help if you wake up in the middle of night, to get up, drink some water, do a little stretching exercise and calisthenics if you're up to it. And then start reading something until you are sleepy again. Mark your spot and go immediately to bed while you are in the mood.
I can't relate to that these days Ed. I usually sleep straight through for seven hours or more. Of course drinking a couple of glasses of cheap California burgundy just before bedtime helps, plus various sleep aids . . .
After only three hours sleep or so myself...I sympathise...
And it's all that stuff that churns around in your head at these times that is
a pain too...
Perhaps some short naps today might restore you physically
Plus raise your mood...
