Seems the starter in my Honda has taken it's final dump...oh joy!

Poem Artwork

I’ve driven my used car that many miles,

Through them all I have had as many smiles,

Never a break down, always started,

She never left me on the road, never were we parted.

So out I go this afternoon for a short drive,

Didn’t get out of my parking space, at all no ride,

All the lights came on, nothing faltered,

I’ve thought for so long that Honda’s were exalted.

So tomorrow I got a ride from Rene to and from Dialysis,

Thankfully for her or I would be walking to the unit,

Right now I got what I feel is loose a screw-nut,

Hope in the long run the car does not go over my cost analysis.

Cars! I have three bikes and one I use almost everyday to buy groceries. It looks like a Harley without a motor. Saves on gas too. All the best to you, Ed. God Bless. Amen X 110!

I hope so as well and hope all will work out, Ed. I know. Words are cheap but I really do mean it. Love, peace, and best wishes to you,

Regis 🙂🍁

You clearly said it was your 50,000 miles, not the total miles on the "used," Honda. Cars these days are noted for going long distances without any problems. Your car's computer will tell the mechanic what is wrong. Get an estimate and see what it might be. It could be small, or it could be big. I'm glad that you always have René to bail you out when things get tough.

Sometimes I think we'd be better off with horse and buggy. Lord Mr. Ford, what have you done?

Our cars are like our children to us. I hope this one holds out for you. I am sure you don't need the added expense from old faithful. Enjoyed.

Been awhile since I've read your work. I read this piece several times and realize how creatively you wove the car's history into your own, all the way to the end. Not easy to do, combining the personification of an object and the reality of life as we know it. Well done, Ed.
