Always remember your wedding anniversary, because your head stone might be purchased the day after.

Off we go (into the wild blue yonder)

Some where just after a Saint Patties fling
I was out on the town doing my kinda thing

I met her briefly , but we didn’t connect,
Said see you around, then what the heck,

Couldn’t shake her memory, better see her again,
Got her number from a well known friend,

Took her out and whatta you suppose,
Two weeks later and I propose,

A whirl wind romance, crazy you bet!
I had known her forever, we just hadn’t met !

Five weeks later, almost to the day,
everything is set for a quick getaway

On Cinco de Mayo with this preacher guy,
He tied the knot for miss Fran and I,

That day Alan Shepard made his maiden space flight,
But I got to kiss the maiden good night!

Yeah happily married, and later we stood,
Our Honey moon shared a splittin fire wood,

One hour later while quenching our thirst,
I said, won’t be no divorce, I’ll be shootin you first,

A wife like you is one of a kind,
My running is over, you were too hard to find,

I reckon ,I made that statement in fun,
But for sixty some years , I ain’t seen my gun,

The, years were all happy with one rule no doubt,
Never to argue just make it work out,

Through despair and pleasure, we both have to state,
Couldn’t ask for better the years have been great,

A love filled family we took life as it came,
Back up fifty years and you might see the same

Years rolled along, never watched the amount ,
It’s the happy you share, not the years that you count,

No, life’s not a dream from so long ago,
Ours has been real, we both made it so,

Our sunset is coming some where down the road,
We’ll walk there together still sharing life’s load,

I know close friends and family will come when you call,
But, She’s always beside me, the closest of all,

1961 Shepard’s maiden space flight.
And for 62 years , I kiss the maiden good night,

Tomorrow is so special , if life goes on for me,
With happiness and joy as God meant it to be.

“Thanks for all the Loving memories, Babe,” your old man lefty

Now I know where you get your good humor. Fran is always there behind whatever you write. She approves and knows that you just can't help yourself when you have to write your twisted tales of foibles and fables. The ones we love so much.

And 62 years together ain't bad. My folks made that exact number 'afor my dad passed too early with a hospital bug he shouldn't have acquired. But I think you two are goin' for the record. I can see her whispering in your ear and you are delighted what she is whispering.

Hi Tom, this isn't your usual take on the sagging side of LIFE and its lopsidedness, but the "unreading" local crowd will forgive you for the personal tribune for we all can clearly see WHO is holding the GUN while you were writing your own obituary. One needs a BOSS-LADY to last out sixty years or more of not-talking-back, I guess. Congrats Tom for making it up to here together !
Hope you put in together another 60ooooo..... Best. TW
