We are free.

Free in the dead of winter.
Nothing grows
There is no sign of life
No sign that freedom is here
No change

And yet,
You are free, they say.
And what does it mean?
Are we free from want?
Free from fear?
Free from the absence of God?
Or are we only free to endure a bit more?

And suddenly, a voice beneath the snow:
Wait!
Only wait a bit more.
Only those who know the depths
Can see the roots growing
The slow becoming
of Redemption

Where there is life...the point being that no matter the expanse of wasteland, life grows anywhere and after any catastophe, be it minor or major. But now that I study the last verse, you do get the point. Never being sheltered from the vicissitudes of life, not truly, we all find that out sooner or later. Our God never told us we would be forever protected. Just that we are his, forever. You have framed this piece just for questioning Yael. In it is all the answer we need to the questions. Hope is at the heart of human. Bob

A sad chapter in history. It takes a long time to come back from nothing… Especially in winter.
