Christmas Cheer

 I’m working myself up to that time off year

To wake myself up to all that Christmas cheer

Despite the global economy and credit crunch

We will still be having a Christmas lunch

Presents still surround a real pine tree

And we will be together, as a family

Aware so many will not have any of this luxury

And for this I feel truly and deeply sorry

I should not be a Christmas Grinch

For my family and me, this is a cinch

So I count my blessings and my good luck

To have all this and in a festive rut, be stuck

So I’m sending out a Christmas note

 And on this I hope you’ll quote

“Happy Christmas to one and all

Count your blessings both big and small

May New Year bring much peace and joy

To every man, woman, girl and boy”
