Poem Artwork

Let's Floor It Baby…

Come on baby lets flash up that Camaro

There’s a road calling us into tomorrow

Let’s pack a knapsack and be on our way

Come on sweet baby… whatdaya say?

Pack some blue jeans and a sweater or two

I threw my guitar and my leather in back

Where we’re going to go oh  sweet baby

You know we ain’t never, ever coming back

Forget your closet of designer clothes

Who really needs fifty pairs of shoes

Look sweet baby at that rainbow  skyline

That mansion’s just yesterday’s old news

I’ll raid my piggy bank to fill the gas tank

You can take your old man’s credit card

Let’s ride off into the sunset my sweet baby

Just jump that fence out of your backyard

Who needs that fancy swimming pool

Baby I’ll give ya the ocean to explore

Come on whatdaya say sweet baby

Let’s go make love naked on the shore

Guitars, campfires, hotdogs on a stick

Yesterday’s history, tomorrow’s on the fly

Come on sweet baby I’ll even ride shotgun

Singin songs ‘ neath an starry Eastern  sky…

Bell bottoms, tie dyed tees, love beads, bolero jackets, and long hair blowing in the haze of blue smoke; and then too the wacky tobacky, tho I never tried it. Some good memories there Fee. Thanks so much for sharing these ones. Hugs, J'nia

Like hearing Willie Nelson "on the road again", although I loved my Studebacker 1963 with a V8 268 HP motor, nothing can compare with the purring of a Harley doing 95 on Road 95 going down to Vegas...then.
You can stirred old memories with that one, oh yes! that back seat!

Hey Fee, I love this light hearted poem. For me, it was a 1970 orange Duster and a 65 Chevelle SS...Nice poem baby! My song was "Wild Fire".
Much peace, love, and light,

GOOD LAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWD!!! You must have had some very expensive girlfriends, Darlin! :)) The title made me think that you'd be rolling around on the thick red carpet in Daddy's Library, rather than hitting the beach, but either way, sounds good to me! And TOTALLY reminds me of one of my favourite Bob Seger songs, Hollywood Nights (which I had played recently on Planet Rock when I put together a list of songs for an hour, linked by the theme of "Mother's Ruin"!!!!) This is Felix-On-The-Upbeat and I adore the sheer joie de vivre and freedom of spirit here... May it not be a flashback as much as a freefall, "life-in-the-old-dog-yet"! WTG Kadillac Kate :)) xx
