time...all things to all

temporary exile

 

 

I am lonely but never alone

foe I have you safe within my heart

just needed to withdraw a moment

finding new strength to stand apart

 

 

like a banished exile looking

at a world I fear I may never see again

I look across the waves of destiny

through a misty veil of teardrop’s rain

 

 

but then I see a break in the dark clouds

a ray of hope framed in glow of light

is it an Angel smiling down at me

telling me everything will be all right

 

 

yes, I know that time comes and goes

in the blinking of a mermaid’s eye

as I sit on this dock of tomorrow's dreams

knowing I will love you til the day I die…

I love the last stanza, especially this line, "in the blinking of a mermaid's eye"
