Politicians also offer diversions, such as focusing in on the economy and setting aside world politics. I worry, yes, but I have faith the economy will find its way, but what of those beyond our borders.....

What goes down, must come up.... and even tho I've lived awhile, it's the worst I've ever noticed...yet, we have a beautiful country, America is proud, and we always work ourselves out of the mess that those who lead us get us into... You say it all in this work.. hugs, lindalaw

I too wish for a good year for your country. It has been in a bad way for some time and there isn't any short term solution, which has been the source of the problem for some time. ie; short term solutions.
An excellent write John, packed with truth and a keen understanding of the situation. As a Canadian, I and many of us are so amazed by the pride and national loyalty most Americans have for their county. Honorable and commendable. We in the north, the land strong and free, seem to root only for the Provence in which we live. Go figure. Maybe it's the 2 languages, or the distance between us all. Don't know. enough of my wanderings. Loved the poem.
