The Doctor’s Office Wait

What do we really do with our time in the doctors or dentist office? I know I read some meaningless magazines or watched soaps without a cause. We would not want waste our time like this at home. Why should we waste time when we go out and chill in a chair? No thanks!

We wait and wait and wait and the doctor is always fashionably late.

So this is a great time and a super opportunity to think, write and create.

No, this is not a time that should be wasted, misused or a time to be bored.

It’s a time to reflect and think of all the good things that comes from the Lord.

So the next time you go to the doctor’s office get out a Bible and a pad and pen.

Then write down all the blessings you have had and end it with a shout of “Amen!”

 

 Reference: Hosea 10:12
Sow righteousness for yourselves, reap the fruit of unfailing love, and break up your unplowed ground; for it is time to seek the LORD, until he comes and showers his righteousness on you.

Yes! You are a faithful messenger of the Lord, and this is a faithful message to all of us, brother! I usually use my time waiting for my chiropractor to work me over, ha ha...to read my pocket Bible.
I liked this poem, and especially the reference at the bottom to Hosea 10:12

Amen to this....Just spent a day at the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale AZ with my daughter....they were tough hours..not the wait, but the waiting for results...and yes...I so agree with your words that inspire me~timing is everything....ty

When my husband was very ill in 2008, we spent alot of time waiting for Doctors...The way people used this time fascinated me as I was very nervous in these situations even though I wasn't the patient. I also observed how we could experience these times of anxiety differently by shifting our perception. One time that stands out was a lady doing her knitting whilst waiting for her radiotherapy session...it calmed me so much to see this 'normal' activity when everything around seemed so threatening and frightening. Another time an eminent Doctor and Professor came out of his 'clinic' with his shoe lace undone and his shirt untucked...again it was reassuring in this setting, he just a normal human being after all...I suppose I was a 'people watcher' at these time...but I learned so much, and observed so many brave people...I intend to write about these experiences myself shortly..

Dear John,
That's a great way to fill what isd usually a waste of time--doctors and patients seem to have different opinions on what time is. Nice poem!!

Love both the poem and the picture. I can't count the times when I have been waiting for various things and found myself reaching for my notebook and pen. I can relate to this.
