Your Forgetful Friend...

This really happened and yes, I sent a letter that went something like this...

Hello my dear friend.

I have to make a confession.

My mind is not as sharp as it used to be.

I just hope and pray that you will forgive me.

For I can't think half as well as I can see.

The address that I sent you was not  meant to be.

You see I did not think and I sent you my old zip.

The one I sent was my old one; is that a trip?

Now I for your troubles,  I owe you a bottle of wine.

My new one is 33918 for sure, not 33019!

So I hope that you can see it in your hear to forgive a friend.

If you do, I promise to think twice so it does not happen ever again.

Amen! Amen and Amen!

John Michael,

It seems that when we reach our 50's and 60's (and on & on) we all have memory problems! This is really a wonderful and catchy letter of apology; I just know that the person who received it was very pleased and noticed how clever you are with words. Your poem is a mini treasure!
