Oh to be on the mountain top
Oh to be on the mountain top
In God’s presence alone
All worldly influence, stifled
So close to His thrown
His still soft voice,
seems so loud
With the rushing, crushing crowd
But with His wonderful blessing
Of time on the mountain’s crest
Comes the assured reality
That for His sake, the valley will be
Best
For you can’t share His wonderful blessings
or the Power in His name
With an eagle or a tree
For they already praise Him
Just by there mere presence
Him to
proclaim
So as I venture downward
To the valley that lies below
I praise, Him, for the new wisdom
At the apex, He did me show
My spirit is more tranquil
More patience, I
seem to find
His words, His promise, His Wisdom
Are rooted in
my mind
I don’t know when,
I’ll once again
A time like this to find
But, He didn’t call me
for myself
But for all of
mankind
So as I enter the cities
The rushing to and fro
I know my Lord is calling
To the lost, here below
And thru my interaction
If by Him I am led
Might come a man’s salvation
His worldly ways to
shed
Another life, another soul
The angels sing, a bell does toll
For, He called us
It’s quite clear
It’s what we’re really
Doing here
To walk His ways,
To share His Word
To be his awesome light
By example is
How we teach
To love,and share
In the valley of death,
Is where
He called us to preach
So as much as I love
To be on the mountain,
In His presence alone,
He’ll use me in the valley
To lead his
people to
His Thrown
And when my time here is
o'er,
each soul I helped to hear,
Will be a shining jewel in the crown
That He said
I
would, wear
He says He’s got
a mansion
A place for me by
His side
I know, He’ll greet me personally
With arms open
wide
And then I’ll see the valley
Where he had me
Roam
As a pathway to
His
Kingdom,
Forever to call
Home.
