It’s a warm day in spring

We have not yet had a thunderstorm here but I saw on the news that they are dancing through the Midwest. I never cease to marvel at the marvelous show put on by a summer storm.

Poem Artwork

On a warm and beautiful spring day there in the southwest looms a dark cloud.

As I look upon it from afar I see it churning and hear thunder though it is not yet loud.

The sun still shines but it will soon relent as the clouds move closer to take command.

As they do this I see lightning streaks and the thunder now rumbles all across the darkened land.

Then comes the rain and it does not come softly but falls as if the cloud strikes with light, sound and rain.

The wonder of this majestic show is that the cloud moves on for it has not long to reign.

As it passes overhead and sends the raindrops along with lightning and the thunder

It causes one to stop and wonder.

What force creates the changing weather by which all of life is sustained?

One must admire the power of the life giving storm for the life I speak of it does maintain.

I see the lightning and I hear the thunder; I also feel the raindrops fall.

They are all a part of Gods creation; the rain, trees and also flowers’ all of life both large and small.

Fascinating, wielding power forming almost out of a nothingness. Some are most spectacular. Beautiful write.
Be safe,

This is very well done -- I love thunderstorms so this poem held a special significance for me. A pleasure to read, Lew.

I live in Tornado Alley; now you are talking about some SERIOUS thunderstorms--replete with tornadoes, hail, damaging downburst winds, flooding rains, and severe anvil lightning. NOT fun, eepecially since a.) I am a stormphobic; I HATE Storms!!, and b.) we have no basements or underground shelter. I don't feel safe here; have already been in one tornado (a few years back; hit close, close; very terrifying!). Don't care to be in another, thankyewverymuch... Still, storms do hold my interest (especially if they are LEAVING! LOL); such power! WOW! Excellent write, Lew; well done!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :D

Lew,

You showered me with this wonderfully descriptive poetry...even as I, too, await our first true spring storm!

The wind here (S.W. PA) is powerfully moving everything around...
but oooooh, does it smell good and new! God IS awesome, in everything!

Happy Spring, Brother!
Blessings, Rhonda
