Summer Breeze

Poem Artwork

A summer breeze blows through the trees making them dance and sway.

The air directs their movements and their leaves flash in the sun today.

Yesterday was quite different.  The breeze was a killer wind.

The trees, knowing this braced themselves for whatever this monster might send.

Then came the rain and it poured and poured from the sky without so much as giving a break.

I watched it pound on the windows and saw parking lots turn into lakes.

The rains came and the rains went away and then the sun came smiling through the clouds.

Its rays soon dried much of the water on the ground and shown down brightly and oh, so proud.

Now as I watch the summer breeze as it gently moves this way and that way

I find myself wondering as I watch, “Will there be rain today?”

We've had summer thunderstorms here in Toronto for several days too, and even it was raining and thundering this morning for a while, but now it is sunny. Crazy weather.

A moment of thoughts well captured in this piece. Thanks!

We too had thunderstorms yesterday, that only lasted a few minutes...and from the looks of things we're going to get more today. Well done, powerful imagery...enjoyed!

We had a thunderstorm yesterday, lasting only minutes, and then the sun reappeared again. I am glad they do not last long, but almost everyday here in PA it rains some lately. The weather patterns are surely changing according to end world conditions this is to be so.
