October Rain

It is a gray Saturday morning. Rain is falling outside which is not a bad thing. It has been a dry season this fall and we need the rain. Somehow, this sets the stage for Halloween.

Poem Artwork

The sky turned gray during the night all but block out the sun’s bright rays.

Rain is pouring down bouncing off the windows, walls and trees as it plays.

The rain is dancing in the street and caressing the grass and being absorbed by the thirsty ground.

It washes a leaf here and there causing it to fall without making a sound.

If you take to time to listen you can hear the song the rain sings as it falls.

The trees respond to its caresses which cause them to stand tall.

They proclaim their joy by reaching upward as if calling for more

And all of nature is thankful for what is in store.

Rain falling is life, soon to be nourished by sunshine.

I revel in the rain so my heart does not pine.

And it's a song I always love listening to. Rain truly is a gift from above.

While rain is pouring outside your window, inspiring beautiful lines, it's pouring liquid ... sunshine, here. Wall to wall blue skies and cool temperatures. :) Beautiful write, Lew.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
