We have our first taste of real winter here in Maryland. Lows were in the 30's last night.

Poem Artwork

Blistery, blustery; the October winds blew.

Across the gray sky the colored leaves flew.

Trees leaned this way and that fighting the cold.

The winds were heavy, forceful and bold.

I watched through my window the scattered debris

It was carried down the street, swirling in front of me.

Then I caught sight of one little leaf on a far away limb.

It held on tight and danced in the wind but it could not loosen him.

The Maple tree dance and the limb shook and swayed

But this tiny leaf simply danced but it was there that it stayed.

What a show of perseverance this tiny leaf was showing.

It spoke of life and living and process of growing.

Hang on to your life and live it for all its worth.

Treasure every day you have to spend on this Earth.

You bet!!! The Autumn winds are rioting and it is growing colder and colder, but we leaves do hang on for dear life, though we may shiver from time to time. Good one, Lew :-)

The cold has hit here in the Midwest as well, and it's truly blistery and blustery right now. And I just might have that drink you mentioned - but it will be a Hot Toddy! Stay Warm while you treasure the days.

Terrorforming Your Environment by RickthePoetWarrior

Never to leave well enough alone our attempts at managing our society, culture, and environment are recycled, re-used, and just generally regurgitated
