Soon the leaves will start falling and I will be buried in them until next summer. . .maybe this year, since the boys are "working out" I can throw a new repetition into their daily regime. . .lol!
Lo, above the Black, wherein White reflects Behold! I feel a motley Muse in color retrospects! The summer Greens fitting, so Olive Drab Whilst Maple leaves Madder from the Limes, they had!
A Gray fog poises, turns a Purple rein reminiscent of a Yellow summery morning in an ante autumn mist Blue Emerald waters in a valley Spring Green same shades of Viridian, brimming over a Forest Fir, stream . . .
Paris plays out from behind the Pea A Sage in the season, in what the Beryl Pines lee Chartreuse of Fall, where once Mossy Mints preened . . .and Kelly’s fade away with their Aquamarines|
Seafoam sits out, a wayside the Blues and Seas Summer apple blossoms color Apple on the trees Sap will be seeping from those Jaded bores My Lawn Green is Browning . . . Fall is Pinking at my door!
Love the atypical fall colors~ orange and brown can be so dull! Our Sycamore is shedding its leaves already, and a cool breeze greeted me early this morning. "Paris plays out from behind the Pea."
Excellent line!
Miss you. Love you.

Reading this pastoral offering reminds me very much of our former home in a farm cottage in Central Scotland. We were surrounded by the reminders of changing seasons as touched upon in your poem.
The centre of Edinburgh too has its reminder in the rich changing hues of greenery foregrounding the castle.
But heh, when I look in the mirror, I ask myself sardonically, 'Is that receding landscape the result of a changing season or a sign of a perpetual winter settling in?'
Ah, roll on last September:)

Dai

What a gorgeous picture Kimmy and I love the colorful words and images! Green is my favorite color and the "motley" combination of all the colors work well together. My favorite lines in the poem are:
"Blue Emerald waters in a valley Spring Green
same shades of Viridian, brimming over a Forest Fir, stream..."

This is not a poem but a literary stained colored glass window from inside looking at the world outside.

You did.

"A motley muse" I like that, like a jester dressed in motley that inspires! I couldn't help but feel as if I was floating along a stream on a raft looking at the passing scenery as I read this Kimmy friend. Delightful!
Fall is one of the most beautiful seasons here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. You wrote her a great ode. (p.s I believe leaf raking is great exersize, though my 16 year old doesn't think so...)
