With the approaching holidays, some people may feel somewhat apprehensive, knowing their criticizing uncle, or overly worrisome sister or brother, etc., will soon be coming to visit...
Well, even the worst family members who make you feel uncomfortable about yourself, are your greatest teachers! Although that is not their objective, ironically, they are teaching you how to become better and to boost those cracks in your self-esteem and in your heart. People who push your buttons can serve as your mirrors.
Let the leaves fall where they may...
Dust swirls at my feet and with squinted eyes, I cry Autumn is approaching quick Looks to be a storm in the distance
Dark clouds are rolling by . . .
Winds start picking up and the leaves dance to their call of branches’ sweeping voice singing raining sounds of Fall
Cool clear skies up ahead . . .
Drops on bowing blades in reflecting, golden hues. . . With a thirst, they cling to life Waters down, my morning dew
The sun is finally out!
Rays through harvest yellows against the reds, a warmth Families reaching out. . . A time to get together
Except for my mother being worried about the load when so many came, our family doesn't have the characteritics I see in movies. Guess we are just bland.
Yes today here in my town the day is swirls of dust
And my eyes are tearing but fall is beautiful
And your words have captured a true vividness
And imagery of this fall storms!

Autumn is a blessing to some and a curse to others. For those of us with allergies and arthritis-issues that are worsened by sharp temperature changes and approaching weather fronts, the autumn is a sad time. I love the autumn --- the color changes (which I miss, since most of our leaves in Texas are dead after the long hot summer), the beauty, and the fact we're closer to Christmas (My favorite time of the year). I don't love the hip and leg pain, but I learn to take the bad with the good.
Autumn weather can change on a dime, but this is a beautiful poem, Kimmy. I really enjoyed it.
