I pray that God will provide a shield of protection around you always, Jeannette, and that the rains will come. Fires are so unfriendly and unpredictable...respector or no one. Our world is in such turmoil; never a dull moment.
We've got family down your way! Tempting to nag them harder to move to Carolina. Wind is more common, thanks to global warming {I assume}, but here in the piedmont, we aren't in as much danger from hurricanes, and as far as I know, fire is unlikely to creep our way.

Two very volatile parts of the country when it comes to unpredictable storms. Hope every thing goes well with both of you. Hurracane season is upon us.
One extreme to the other: drought or floods, storms or plagues. Which is worse? I've written about all kinds of weather (since we in Texas get it all LOL), don't wish no bad weather on noone. :( Been where you are; you'll come out of it; when you get the rain, you'll get it the way we do here: all at once or not at all. I wish I could spin up some gentle, soaking showers for you...all I can do is keep you in my prayer. Stay safe my friend, you capture the fire fury in heartbreaking detail.

Personally, I think of Summer as a young maiden. Sort of a twin sister to Spring. Up here in West Virginia, we don't get a lot of the weather that Florida does. So it's somewhat strange to hear someone fear what is otherwise a beautiful time of year. But then we tend to be wary of Winter up here.
