Just pondering about all that has been going on this Spring and Summer all around the world......
Signs............
What is happening from coast to coast,
dangerous storms, flooding,
uncontrolled fires.
Lives changed forever, constant upheaval,
cannot imagine how this quenches desires.
West coast ablaze everywhere one looks,
with each passing year we destroy more land.
What will it take to correct these mistakes,
is there any way for us to take
the upper hand?
East coast shoreline methodically
disappearing,
along with our forests and ocean slivers.
How long can we ignore the signs we see,
diminished forests, dried up lakes, streams
and rivers.
How many more animals must be sacrificed,
after all they need nourishment as well as we.
Hastily, needlessly without giving
any thought,
we slaughter millions on land and in the sea.
Center of the country slowly being devoured,
farmers unending work now sits
under water.
Homes, apartments, businesses and schools,
people and animals trying to cope not falter.
Prophesy could really be coming to pass,
for so many years I have heard elders say.
Could this be true , is the time really near,
in the near future will we all have to pay.
Still holding out hope for future generations,
optimistic in the powers of what we can do.
Doing what is right with no time to waste,
resist the needless impulse,
it is up to me and you.
We must keep watching and waiting. He will come in his predetermined time setting. It may be tonight or tomorrow or next year. No one knows, but we feel it getting near and nearer each hour and day. Good write ans so true and should be read by many to get the love of God throughout the land. Don't worry for nothing and let nothing make your afraid.
I think you are accurate my friend, I too believe that all the devestation that is going on in the world around may just be God's way of getting our attention...I too have heard of the signs of time. Great write!

I once heard an evangelist who said - "If God doesn't get your attention in the earthquake - he'll get it in the afterschock." Thanks for writing this as it is so truthful.
We are told to watch for signs in the heavens, in the changing seasons...and in another breath we read, how we will not know the day, nor the hour...everything will come across like a thief in the night...
Well, until then, I will look for the signs and forget the hours... living, knowing it could be at any moment, His moment WILL come!

Your words echo the sentiments of many, Karen. Too bad many are caught up in their own little world to really care about their children and grandchildren's future lives.
Sometimes, I look around and truly believe it's The End of Days. Other days, I think maybe we can still save this old planet, and then I soon sadly start thinking, it's probably already too late, because far too many don't even seem to care.
