Painting of Spring Tree by~~

Gregory Allen

Poem Artwork

I watched the wind frolic in the trees
in a  dance with the newborn leaves
It 's  a wondrous blow that creates
the flow which gave pleasure in  full
measure, for nature comes alive in
spring  bringing vitality to everything

The beautiful buds straining to bloom
will be taken from the garden to
decorate each room, with gorgeous
golden daffodils, pink roses, white
daisies, purple mums, orange pom poms,
red carnations, and other  variations

As we gaily wend our way through each
colorful spring day, our senses aglow with
passion for the latest fashion, and though
the weather may bring us heartache and
despair, there are wonders beyond compare
taking our imagination in rhyme and reason
into exciting varities for the summer season

True vernal energy in your lines here, Eileen, bursting with colour, texture and life. I like how you interleave our human actions and responses with the over-riding dominance of nature: we can imitate and enshrine her but we certainly can't tame her - especially not while she's in this phase of new extravagance and burgeoning growth! A breath of fresh air, thank you. Kate xx

Yours are fine thoughts and most encouraging, Eileen. Now if only I could get into the "spirit" of what they mean. Thank you for sharing this gift. Love and best wishes,

Eileen, I had never considered what the true allure of Springtime is until I read your line, "our senses aglow with passion for the latest fashion" -- how poetically magnificent is that concept -- peace and love -- Jon Michael

Sorry, I haven't green fingers, so, I don't know what are you talking in your garden of, after the roses you lost me, but I see all those little leaves that are starting to cover the nudity of trees.
As usual you teach us old folks to appreciate Spring, where we thrwo away the blasted liniment for those squeak bones !
