I AM OKAY.

This just came to me, and so, I write.

Poem Artwork

"AND NO ONE KNOWS IT'S ME"

I love Halloween.
I hide my blackened eyes behind a mask
Don't have to answer questions people ask
And no one knows it's me.
.
I love Halloween.
I hide behind somebody else's face
I've disappeared...of me, there is no trace
And no one knows it's me.
.
I love Halloween.
I hide my sadness behind laughing eyes
No one has seen all of the tears I've cried
And no one knows it's me.
.
I love Halloween.
I hide to transform ugliness and scars
It's the only way I can be a star
Instead of being...me.
.

Heartshattering write that is sadly a reality for far too many people; you have captured their anguish and pain perfectly in this hardhitting poem! Very nice job; brava!

The sad thing about it, there are people in the world who really practice this. Excellent write, Karla.

This was really sad; but think of it this way, many clowns feel like this on a daily basis. They wear their made-up smiles but who knows?...they might be crying inside too.
