Poets are like cruises - Poets have a tendency to overpack Their pen with too many outfits of meter And rhyme and forget to leave room for free verse.
Poets are like cruises - Some announce their arrival with great fanfare, But the biggest doesn't mean that it's the best Or that the stabilizers will always work.
Poets are like cruises - One never knows what kind of waters they'll have Or if their pen will have an oceanside view Or if they'll reach their final destination.
Poets are like cruises - Spending a lot of dough does not guarantee You a seat at the Captain's table or give Increased odds of winning at the Casino.
Poets are like cruises - Good ones try different forms at the buffet, Don't overeat and become bloated with praise - And ALWAYS bring back souveniers for their friends.
Poets are like cruises - One doesn't know if their readers will get sick Or if there will be a disaster at sea - That is a chance the Poet will have to take.
The longest cruise I took is when my motor died out about 50 miles once when fishing...drifted around for awhile till the Coast Guard showed up, thankfully...I think that poets drift around alot in a torrent of rough water...but end up like you have of late, becoming great poets...Ed

It sounds as if you had a really good time on the cruise and doing this one.
Very clever write, Karla...while on a cruise and in the poetic realm, it is always a good idea to take a break and enjoy a bit of different scenery and cuisine at a port of call. Sometimes it helps us to broaden our horizons when we write...great message.
