Humidity wears me like a blanket;
it wraps itself around me; I feel its
thickness pressing down on my shoulders; it
is a heavy weight that melts me into
a puddle looking forward to Autumn ...

I'm desperate for any cooling breeze
and sniff the air for an early sign of
a cold front approaching to give relief;
thunderstorms taunt the afternoon but
fail to deliver any refreshment ...

And so I run up the electric bill,
standing stark naked in front of the fridge,
flinging open the freezer door to freeze
my parts, wishing I were small enough to
fit into the vegetable chiller ...

Hey, gotta cope with the heat somehow. *grins*
