All this from looking at my dishpan hands. :) Enjoy.

Poem Artwork

Whose hands are attached
to these limbs?
They're so ... old.  I don't
remember
them looking like this.
And whose face
is that looking back
at me?  When did those
grey hairs and
wrinkles appear?  They
weren't there
yesterday ... least I
don't think so
(little fuzzy on
the details).
And whose body is
that below
the neck?  It's not mine!!
I was in
shape and didn't have
all these ... lumps ...
and bumps all over.
My breasts used to be
perky; these
are saggy/baggy;
my belly
never looked like that,
not at ALL.
And where did all these
aches and pains
come from?  I didn't
order them ...
or the varicose
veins or the
flatulence or the
haggy hairs
(the list is growing
much longer
day by day by day).
Whoever
sold me this bill of
goods lied ... age
ain't all what
it's cracked up to be!

Oh Karla, so funny, but, yes, so true too. Age is moving in on us, a little...usually about 6-8 hours into the day it gets better.
Lots of love and many hugs, Birgit and Roger

This is hilarious and right on! Age defies beauty sometimes...especially within.

Your words are undeniably honest and you speak for so mny....of us!
