Storms, like felines, are ruthless hunters...

Image of severe thunderstorm, (c) 2006, Karla Dorman.

Poem Artwork

... the sky turn'd Spring side out,
furr'd at the edges; it
hiss'd a warning in the
wind, swiping at the Earth
with paws of anger.  Mice.
That's all we were, mice to
be toy'd with:  it got real
ugly, real fast; the last
thought I had before things
went black was, "Have mercy!"

(c) 2007, Karla Dorman.  (3/15)

Storms in the soul, twisters made of guilt, and then Nature gives us a preview of what is going on inside us.
Nice little one.

That is one awful-looking storm. That's a wonderful poem, though. {{{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}}}

You've captured the spirit of the storm perfectly, Karla -- it is like an angry cat! Well done, sweet poet lady.

Another superb poem wrenched from your fear of storms! It's uncanny isn't it how good can come from bad.;-)Write on Karla the storms are no match for your pen;-)!

Every one is scared severe thunderstorm. It kills the peace and beauty of the season as well as the mood of the people. I am glad that you were not hurt. Stay safe dear Karla. Your poetry is always inspirational.

Thank you.

Powerful imagery of the potential, unstoppable brute force of nature.

'Have mercy!'
That's all we, as mere mortals, can do when faced with such a phenomena.

Boy, Karla, I'd hate to get into that catfight; not a pretty picture! Scary looking cloud; glad it passed us by! Vivid creativity storms from each line; very well done! BRAVA, StormSpinner!

I always figured Mother Nature considered us to be mere insects she could swat all about at will, but I guess mice to be toy'd with works very well, too. Be careful out there!

Nice analogy, Karla. I do love a storm now and then but here, so far, they're not as "mean and nasty and scary" as those down your way. Thanks for sharing this. Love and peace,

Regis
