My twin found it hilarious. :) I can *ow* laugh now, but it wasn't funny, then ...

Poem Artwork

Points of chins were not
meant to meet cement.
"Hello, nice to make
your aquaintance."  I
didn't think it nice:
have the reminder
of our meeting:  sore,
bruised, with twin sister
laughing her butt off.
So sympathetic,
she:  what happened was
this.  Went to step up
and fell down, instead.
Damn foot drop.  And the
V.A. says it's all
in my head.  Right.  I
enjoy making a
fool out of myself
when I least expect
it.  Timmbbbbber!  Thar she
goes, get out the way!
People came running,
"Are you okay?"  Got
up as fast as I
could, rubbing chin, tears
in my eyes.  Not hurt
just embarrassed.  The
hurt came the next day,
with aching body
and bruise on the chin.
Points of chins were not
meant to meet cement.

Awe, hope you are feeling better, I know the day after my incident with the goat...boy was I sore! I was thankful that no one saw this one! But several years ago I was visiting my inlaws and went to get their mail which was a good walk away from their house, DOWN a long gravel driveway in a crowded neighborhood, aint it funny how the neighbors are always working in their yards or sitting on the porch when an incident like this happens. Well, the gravels rolled under my feet and DOWN I went, nearly doing a split! Up I came as quickly as possible looked over my shoulder and of course all eyes were on me! I'm okay! I shouted...cut scraped and bruised but my dignity was bruised the most! Great write my friend, brought back a moment for me that I had forgotten all about! Enjoyed, again hope you are okay!
Blessings,
Joyce B.

I will pass on what I keep getting told, SLOW DOWN. I fall, trip, walk into walls and doors when I try to go too fast, so SLOW DOWN and all will be well. Glad you are okay!

Be safe,
Karen

Ouch! It's the sudden stop that's the worst, not to mention embarrassing! :) Guess the old brain got a horrible jolt, too. So sorry, dear friend...'tis not funny when it happens. Still your creative side was not affected. Praise the Lord for that! Sending your chin a sisterly kiss.

God Bless
Love and hugs

Oddly enough, just last week my wife's chin met the cement, too, and I had to take her to the E.R. for several stiches. I probably shouldn't let her get off the porch anymore! But I'm glad to hear that you're OK!

Oh, Karla... I'm so sorry... I did EXACTLY the same thing when short-cutting across a bank by the rugby ground last summer... I was gawping at a possible celeb and misjudged my footing on the gradient. Yup, flat on your face, chin-first has gotta hurt! Pride is more difficult to heal, too! Glad that laughter has been your healer... yours AND Karen's!! Good job she was there as First Aid! LOL Kate xx

It never make me laugh, not even in the slapstick cinema ones, people falling. My wife can't help, she will cracked up like a dry twig at the least provocation of someone doing the banana slipping.
The only thing I can comment on the event is: Ouch!

Karla~

Excellent write about a not so funny situation; sorry I laughed, but I couldn't help it. A person falls, I have to bust out laughing; it never fails. I am glad you weren't hurt worse than you were; you are fortunate there. Very well done; hope the pain (and bruises) go away soon; you are in my prayers!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your twin, Karen Lynn. :(
