Warm southerly breezes tickle the brain with feathery soft thoughts of silliness. Winter's ... over? Can it be?? Summer's -- Not on your life. Winter's just stocking up on ammunition for the next time she blows in, catching you nearly naked and unprepared. That will get your attention, when all you own turns a violent shade of indigo. Haven't you learned yet that you can't fool Mother Nature?
... No but she sure can fool us... I went out without a coat in my rush yesterday, only to find the wind-chill so whipped up that I was more or less forced to buy a gilet to put over me... well, it WAS on my wish-list anyway, so perhaps MN gave me just the excuse! Texas or Trowbridge, there is no stable place left... even Jesus knew that when He came the last time! :)) Love, Kate xx
This one really gets to me since I was just caught "naked and unprepared" by winter. My drive home from work recently was nothing less than a nightmare. I do not exagerate; I was lucky that day. Winter is a fickle beast with an angel's face! Great poem, Karla!
