First of all, Happy Father's Day to all the fathers, here.

But - not everyone has their Daddy - I miss mine so very much -

Poem Artwork

.. . ... the happy sounds of celebrating
as children everywhere fete their
Daddies, giving cards, ties, other gifts
in appreciation.  What about
those that don't have paternal guidance
or their loved one has passed on?  We, the
father.Less.  It's just another day
to be reminded that they're not here .. . ...

True, but thank God for the good memories. That's what we all have to do when they are gone from us.

You shouldn't be sad, because you had a loving father for many many years, which guided, protected and said "I love you" when you sat on his lap, remember it and that many of us weren't so lucky.

Karla~

Daddy will always be with us; he lives on in our hearts and minds. We will never forget him; he was the bestest daddy we could have ever wanted or asked for! God blessed us with him, and remember: God is our Abba Daddy, so we are NOT "Father.less"! :)

Excellent write; brava!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your twin, Karen Lynn. :( >tears! <

Karla,

May the Lord Bless you in a most trying time, your first Father's Day without your Dad. It's hard I know. Keep him always in your heart.

Much love,

sad as it may seem, i was father less even when he was there ... it is not the duration of having a father but the quality his love when he's around ...

I, too, am fatherless - have been since I was eight. My father died of cancer at age 30. I often wonder what my life would have been had he lived. Sometimes, I have dreams that he never really died, but had just gone away and finally decided to return. My thoughts are with you.

You are so right to remind everyone. That is an aspect most people don't think of and you have said this with very straightforward and touching words.

I know you are in pain for it does feel like we are deserted when these times come when our parents pass on. But you are not alone, he is looking down and guiding you each and every day with love and caring.

The only father's day card now I'm giving is to my hubby, but in my heart I know my daddy and my father-in-law will both have their special day in heaven.

Thank you Karla, for sharing this!!!

I don't mean to be harsh, Karla, but what about those of us whose fathers were violent and abusive, who murdered their mother, then committed suicide (on father's day). We still have to grow up and leave the past behind.

My dear Karla,
I understand just how you feel. Fathers day is almost a painful event these days other than the love of my children. My own father passed on this day eleven years ago today and my wifes father died forty years ago today! But Gene is right, they are here, as our memories live as long as we do. Love you much and know that your daddy is smiling right now and bragging about you and your dear sister! He's talking to my father about you this very minute.

My best, *Glen*
