... When distant thunder revelles the
clouds to assemble in formation;
when lightning marches them by in
review; when rain and hail gather
forces with wind, there I am, camera
in hand, embedded with the troops.
When meteorologists call for a threat
of storms; when radars ramp up to
alert level red; when the reporter in
me leaps at the chance to record
events as they happen, there I am,
camera in hand, ready to catch it all.
No car (have cane, will travel). No
paying for gas; no afternoon stops at
greasy spoons or overnights at roach
motels; always a chance for a bust in
the forecast: no matter. There I'll be,
camera in hand. Call me Porch Chaser.
"When distant thunder reveilles" -- Karla will be there, with her imagination, a creative camera and poetic lines to thrill -- go get them -- peace and love to you my dear friend -- JMW
Can I put my rocking chair on that porch of yours and me Coors cooler?
Then you ain't be alone to take them pictures, and not afraid of them thunders...cheers!
And you live in the right place to chase them from the porch, doncha? :) The first stanza just knocked me on my tail! Thanks, Karla--and for your beautiful image!
Talking about chasers
I used to have a dog that used to love chaing Parked cars
his face was flat and he wasn't even a Bull Dog.....lol
Love & Peace be with you
Very cute write Karla. I too, can picture you chasing that that fast moving front cane and camera in hand and full of resolve. I had a chuckle with this one my friend. Very well done.
Porch CHASERRR!! LOL at Ed M. (below): No, she doesn't have a rockin' chair. She stands at the door of her front porch, sometimes holding onto the door, to keep from being buffeted around or blown away! LOL You should see it: I'm yellin' at her to "GET IN HERE!", and she's saying, "Just one more picture!" It's NUTZ!! Living with a chaser is a trial indeed. Yes. LOL Very well penned and illustrated, StormSpinner; brava!
