Poem Artwork

... once again, sitting here, alone,
playing solitaire on the computer
and trying to think of something

brilliant to write.  The entire world
wide web is at my fingerstips, a
few keystrokes away, and here I

am, spending my morning looking
for the cards I need and words ---
both refuse to show their hands.

No wonder I'm losing and the poem
has left the building:  never c o u l d
walk and chew gum at the same time.

(c) 2009, Karla Dorman (11/17)

Your sis has got a great eye--and you know those poems will be back--Your Muse doesn't desert you ever for long, lady, so cut yourself some slack. (If it walks like a poem and quacks like a poem--it's a poem--or maybe a duck...)
hugs--

Karla, the poem that just left the building will return with a thousand guests my dear friend -- be prepared to scribe each of them -- may peace and love be in your heart on this day of Thanksgiving -- Jon Michael

I like this, Karla. Whimsical and perfect. Great photo, too.

Most amusing. I gave up on gum. Like Georg says, some can't chew with out a manual. That would be me. Just ask my perforated tongue. Patrick

I like the way you punish yourself all the while you keep pushing out the poems!;-) You are a wonder, Karla!

The words indeed left the building, only to land on the Den. You make me chuckle. Even when you think you can't write, you write a delightful poem.

God bless you. Kathy

Sage's cards are up and she's calling the hand. The Muse is asked to dance and I feel sure she wouldn't request anything of another she isn't sure could be completed.

Blessings and love,
Susan

Joker's Wild, Karla! Poetry is a gamble, the ante is steep, and the stakes high, I call your winning hand!

Me too, or neither, which ever is applicable! For a woman I'm pretty useless at multi-tasking - with my hands, that is... I have the opposite trouble with my brain... keeping it on track and in line is what sends my hands and legs into a total tailspin! Perhaps feeding it some gum will clamp its jaws together - at least long enough to let my hands get a word in edgeways! I'm useless at spatial awareness too... think Solitaire would thus also defeat me as it requires shifting stuff from A to B. Love this as always, Karla... just goes to show you have only to look up your sleeves et voila! Job done! :)) xx

LOL, Karla! Whenever I have writer's block, I find that reading other people's poetry is the cure. Sparks the imagination.
