I love this time of year. I hate this
time of year. Love the Christmas
spirit, hate the greed. Love the
trees and decorations, hate how
long it takes. To. Put. Them. Up!
Love the sales, hate not having any
money to buy, buy, buy ... love
the message of the Savior's birth,
hate that many have forgotten
the Reason for the Season. And
that's why I love and hate this
time of year. Merry Christmas!
Christmas without the commercialization by business is the most wonderful holiday for those of that are of the Christian faith. I do not hate this time of year. Just the misinterpretation of its importance and values. It is so nice to see you publishing your poetry to the den once again Karla. I bid you love and peace my dear friend. Jon Michael

i agree with you 100%. actually, i think i just hate the holidays in general. it feels like a commitment, love under duress. why can't people just share random acts of kindness all year? i know, i'm jaded. lovely poem though. nice to see you back.
I agree that I hate toe cost as over the years we would ask for a doll and pray we were good enough, when I hear the kids today, they want IPods, laptops, cell phones and it means nothing to them about the price. If you asked 1/2 of them what we were celebrating this time of the year, they haven't a clue. Now I will post a song I wrote several years ago, it became the title song for a Christmas CD recorded in Nashville by a group.

Karla, I know what you mean. Didn't help matters that you had to spend your money from Thanksgiving on stuff I needed instead of buying Christmas gifts. That stinks! I hate it too, especially when people forget the REAL Reason behind the Season: the birth of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ! Sadly penned piece that reflects the mood of many, us included. Well done!
