This winter and the last few have been a challenge for many. Biting cold lasting for weeks, months on end. Snow, freezing rain and sleet. Yip dear sister, we here in Michigan decided to give from our warm hearts, because our toes are frozen. LOL. Right now we have 33.1 degrees and the wind chill is 26 degrees. This is a delightful piece written by a nice warm stove or fireplace, I hope. I don't follow football, baseball, basketball, hockey, soccer, or any other full or partially full contact sport. I like tennis, golf, badminton, volleyball and competitive beach ball which is kinda like volleyball, except you can kick the ball to your team mate, but you have to catch it first. Thank you for sharing.

I always thought Texas was a warm state relatively year round but with such harsh winters and, in particular this year, it merely proves I was wrong. Stay warm, my friends.

El Nino, nasty little devil! It's not terribly cold here, the coldest it ever gets is a high of 59. (Normal is 75) But I do remember those Maryland days, when life was not so kind. We'll see if the Groundhog sees his shadow tomorrow! Great poem, Karen!!

my sister lives in CT and said they have 30 inches of snow on the ground with more on the way. that's why i moved to southern california 21 years ago, don't miss that at all. my friend in texas said it's very cold there too now, don't you hate when northeners share??
Karla, I guess we have to remember, what was 'normal' for us yesterday has been replaced with 'the new normal'...the fact remains cold is cold, no matter where you live....Nice write
