You asked for it Ed.
Here's my first entry into the Creek Cave Poetry Recital

Poem Artwork

Lookie here my pretty Miss,
This one is called Baby Swiss.
NO NO NO, she said to me,
I want to go and try the Brie.
Ah yes yes yes, wonderful Brie,
Is almost just as warm as thee.
Here my dearest wonderful YOU,
Wouldn't you like some smelly Blue?
Dear you know I love you back,
How about some Pepper Jack?
Kaihlil said life is so much better,
With just a little wine and Cheddar.
Yip he was a smart old fella,
Don't string me along with Mozzarella.
C'mon dear it ain't so far,
To where there is the Wunderbar.
Ha, she said, you must be drunk,
That Limberger you ate smells like a skunk.
Girl, don't leave me here alone,
I just found the Provalone.
I'll get the car you smelly 'ole con,
And bring along some Parmesan.
So off we went into the night,
With pockets full of American White.

Walt

Walt, that cheddar & wine sounds like a winner. This is a hoot! Loved every line and laughed uncontrollable as I read it. A lot of thought went into this one! Can't wait for the recital...I'm bringing my flea infested hound and my spittoon so I can keep tune to the poems that are read. Enjoyed this!

....Mmmmmm.... you took me away with the wine and Cheddar, Walt. That Kaihlil was a wise, wise man with very good taste! Farmhouse is best, the way me old mother used to churn it... rind on... Sorry, getting high on the smell here... Great entry and you certainly know your cheese and hopefully, by now, your BabyBel! :)) K xx

Poets are prejudiced towards that American white,
It does rhyme with the words we write,
Though left in the cave for too long a time,
It turns green, contracting a diseased blight... Ed

CHEESE! LOL (Sorry, couldn't resist!)

Wonderfully aromatic write, but I don't do cheese except on pizza or if I have macaroni and cheese. Not a big cheese eater; never have been. Very well done!
