"...Times of general calamity and confusion create great minds. The purest ore is produced in the hottest furnace and the brightest thunderbolt is elicited from the darkest storms..."

--Charles Caleb Colton (1780-1832)--

Poem Artwork

You want to think of this as the geater difficulty
  we know exists
Only looms large. One's dreams against the
  realties.

Or one entity flowing against a flowing tide
of resentment, envym bitterness. One entity
There is no other, in truth, any man, running
  and clamoring for freedom

The thought of it all, fleeting as the crashing waves
  below, flowing again in currents
You are but a passing ship in tormented
  seas...catching and dropping its cargo

Unfurling the darkened aurora in bursting light
Open and widen the heavens, O clouds of orchids
for this love-struck one, absent his beloved
After, entering, this early tide,
  ever so slowly, so bright...

That last scene, floating across the wide
  screen of unspeakable time
Who now knows? What beholds
  who cries

Crushing pictures return so vivid,
  to the water's edge
This time, so cruel, so staunch,
  sharp and violent

Cruel and fierce storms of life and love...
  catching us

Enjoyed very much, Myles! You, or one, or all in the first lines of your verses tell one story, the last lined-words, another, the middle? Verbed and delivered as such.
