arriving to a three week adventure in Pacific Palisades, CA...this is my first morning

like star wars hummingbirds dart, dive, and defend the territory over my head from the blooming succulents to the arbor trumpet vines whirling, twirling acrobats of daredevil parade they chirp, squeal, and buzz with unending flight patterns an iridescent display of teal and violet sipping my own morning nectar of vanilla splashed java contemplating nothing more complex than the relishment of evaporating overnight dew glistening sparkles across the lawn, they like I, awakening in a much slower pace than the busy flying darts blessed to know i have only to observe and enjoy the beauty that lives here

slow 'vanilla splashed java' mornings, dew drops and busy hummingbirds - wonderful! - your poem brought back happy memories - 'blessed to know i have only to observe and enjoy the beauty that lives here' - i can feel the peace and wonder, and the anticipation of adventure - 'nectar' indeed!
