'Tis been a wee bit o' time since I'd be visiting ye, but I 'd be wantin' ye' to know I've been on me good behaviour, now, I have.
Oh, but St. Paddy's Day is nearin' a'gin, and I'm bustin' me green britches to have me some fun.
Since I've been storin' me gold for a wee bit o' time, and prices ha' pumped-up in me favor, me pockets should be jinglin' a pretty tune!
Now I'm wairnin' ye, don' be gettin' any flashes 'bout liftin' me load, as I've got me a fine hidin' place, and it ain't in my pot-o' for ye to find.
So what'v ye been doin' wi' yerselves, now?
I hear tell that Tiger Lil has been floatin' inta th' cosmos wit her po'try; she must be on a grand high, I'm t'inkin! Could it be herself will be enjoyin' celebratin' her birt'day, now?
And, Tom, me boy...what mischief ha' ye been up to, I'd be askin'? Shame'd ye should be tat'lin on poor darlin' Johnny! And hiself with more troubles than a stout-less pub. Ye should be "wrappin'" him
in koind words, ye should.
Then there's the talk 'bout midlin bro Ed: him bein' caught fornicatin' 'tween WHAT?...moose and buff'lo? Have ye no shame, mon? Just
don't get yerself caught next time, I'm thinkin'.
Oh, begorra...ye've not been 'scapin me sights either, dear PeeWee Ed! Yer long and fuzzy legs have been dippin' in more than a web, they have!
Stickee business ye'd be puttin' on yer dear ones!
Well, now, I'm off to be enjoyin' me shenanigans, 'n since I'll be hidin' me jingles, I'd be much oblij'd if ye'd be buyin' me a pint or two...and maybe a few more, if yer willin'.
But before I go traipsin' off to do me fun, I'll be leavin' ye with a few wise thoughts o' me own...limericks, they be.
A lovely Lace named Chantily
does poetize quite tempestuously
making some folks to wiggle
and others to giggle
but how they all enjoy her flirt-ility
A feast he would attend with glee
this rotund gentleman named Georgee
fine foods he would grovel,
his utinsel a shovel,
but only for those feasts that were free!
'N now wi' yer prrrrmission - or not - I'll be repeatin' a few of me older-but-gooder Lims:
POOR MOLLY
‘Tis in Dublin’s fair city she would cry
hoping one and all would come buy
her cockles and muscles
sadly all was a tussle -
uncleanliness caused her to die.
ST. PAT AND THE SNAKES*
There once was a Saint name of Patrick
who ran all the snakes from the attic
He didn’t stop there
‘til the land it was bare
of the snakes, now we celebrate Patrick!
*The snakes were more than likely paganism that St. Pat wanted to change in Ireland.

St. Paddy's Day was the day our mother died; it will be 18 years ago then. I still miss her!
