Glorious Theatrics
So quiet and still;
not a leaf stirring in the trees.
Late evening skies cast a pinkish-yellow shade,
announcing the advent of brewing storms.
KABOOM shouts Thunder in the background,
soon followed by bright SPOTLIGHTS of Lightning - the show is about to start;
the orchestra lights have dimmed.
PITTY-PITTY-PATTER , the Rains begin;
followed by a chorus of
KLINKITY-KLINKITY-KLATTER from Hail-stones.
as they hit soft and solid matter.
The skies open to a down-pour,
emitting the dank, musky scent of wet earth.
Many acts later, Lightning, Thunder, Rain, Hail
bow to their performance on opening night.
Spring storms may be dangerous,
but they sure know how to put on glorious theatrics!

And what a show Mother often provides. I love Her PITTY-PITTY-PATTER musical intro, and the smell of that wet earth, especially in the Spring.
That pic of anvil lightning is beautiful, as is the imagery of the sky performing. :) Well done!
As I wrote in my message to you, I look at storms the only way I can - scary - try to see the beauty, but nothing, to me, is beautiful about large hail or tornadoes! The clouds, the lightning, yes, but not the other things. Know what I mean? Keep Karen and I in prayer. :(
((((HUGS)))) and love, Karla. *Stay safe, 'k?*
Be always safe,

STill, a good write about one of my least favorite things; well penned/illustrated!
(((HUGS))) and much love, your Tx. friend, Karen Lynn. :(
