I need to hit the beach.

Summer is hot

In the morning, the hawk's call pierces

the meadow's hush is broken.

 

Summer is hot,

At noon, the dogs loll in the shade

They pant and wriggle backs against the grass.

 

Summer is hot,

At night, blankets kicked off,

Too much heat for spooning.

You are never TOO OLD for spooning and it's never TOO HOT for spooning. You just have to ration yourselves a little more. Well said. Thanks Dick

yes kick the blankets off but never too hot for spooning. Well done.
90 degrees seems to be the norm around here lately and a few in the 100's. Whew
