Polar bears are drowning.
Their coats are not white you know. They are gold. They glisten. Their shoulders are rock Mossed by spun fur. Limbs, trunks, instincts Solid and unforgiving As an oak Next in line to be sawed.
They have the right to be Silent Anytime they wish. They do not need to be told They have the right to fish As for their call, Just listen.
Define magnificent
When they walk, When they swim, When they sleep. Define awe. Teeth, hair, claws, Everything about them, Tells us they are designed To live tall and strong. Like every other creature They are here for a reason. Are needed, have needs.
They need food, they need water. They need mates, they need air. They need offspring. They need a place to live.
Polar bears need ice We are melting it. Guess what their sentence Is likely to be. Guess what will become Of the jury decides.
Polar bears are drowning.

Yes, here in Australia, the govt has examined the statements on global warming indicating total economic disaster ahead. They have two apparentresponses (a) stated that there's nothing to worry about for a while - let's go back to sleep... and (b) mounted a contradictor flurry of surveying and map-drawing to decide which houses will be inundated first. Change the world? Change our own environmental practices? Tell gib business to shape up? ...naaah, just adapt to go on living in a battered, depleted, dying ... but quite profitable world.
Our actions, whether we realize it or not, directly and indirectly affect every creature on Earth. We are the enemy. Excellent, excellent message all mankind needs to heed; I thank you for caring enough to write this fantastic piece, Pea! BRAVA!

When I was growing up in Ohio, the next town southeast of ours had three polar bears in a large facility; we used to beg to go see them. Some creeps broke in one night and killed them...we were devastated. Such magnificent creatures...such waste.
Yes they are, and it's truly a damned shame what we've done to far too many of our earthly nonhuman neighbors. If this Global Warming isn't addressed soon, I'd hate to be around this planet 50-100 years from now; it's truly going to be a very dismal place.
As long as these big fellows last,

Maybe they can be relocated to the south pole,
As we know they have within almost a human soul...Ed & Rufuz
The knock on effect of Man's barbarism towards animals, in particular whales, seals and wolves and polar bears is threatening to do, what the Great Flood couldn't do...render them extinct..
Thank God for zoos now !
And like Marci below we need Noah's Ark constructed again, and a good men like the two Ed brothers to captain the ship !
