Poem Artwork

Here.  In this fleet effervescence of air,
Of water, of sun, of mist
Meeting its maker as if on a dare,
Wanting above all to kiss and be kissed.

Here.  With this heart, these bones, this skin
Once more dimpled and unblemished.
Bit of salt sieved over honey, not fat, not thin.
Just beginning and never to be finished.

Here.  In this tingle, this limber unplanned ballet
Of bird, fish, and mammal, all one,
Frisk, frolic, fly, swim, and do grande plie-'yays'.
Loved ones, all alive, all having fun

Here.  Naked, wet, and unashamed
Of clumsy butterflies and unmasked sex,
Of hitting bottom, of seeking lame:
Sky blue, water green, sun orange, flesh flesh.

Here.  Here where we can hear,
Feel, smell, yes be, the sea.
Here, where we can be.
Simple.  Simply. . .be.

What a release of tension. Serenity. Desire. Passion. Alive and in the moment. Brilliant. Liz

God that's refreshing almost like sipping a cool drink in the skin scorching sun while you got two flat tires on the interstate and the police is writing you a ticket for a tail-light that's out. I think you've captured what it means to just stop and enjoy your life for what it is and not what it isn't. Wonderful & Inspiring words you have written here!

absolutely gorgeous - read this before in a noisy bar, so glad to have read your poem again now out loud, in the quiet, by a noisy sea - simply a good place to be - gosh! The sea's gone really quiet all of a sudden! listening to your poem may be?! Really really enjoyed reading, thanks Pea :)

And Here would I stay for a very long time, Pea. So soothing and like healing oil to the soul. Effortless lines which capture some piquant images that bless with all the delicacy of that caring Angel's kiss! Makes me feel like a child adored... forever and for all time, irrespective of age. TY for this grace and beauty. Simply... wonderful! :)) Kate xx
