Hello...Mrs. Smith...May I please talk to you?
Were you born in Kansas..is your first name Sue?
It is! Oh my God, I've searched for you so long-
I felt I had to find you be it right or wrong!
Did you have a daughter about twenty years ago?
After giving birth you had to let her go?
I don't want you to cry - Please dry your tears-
Mother, I have searched for you so many years!

Have you thought of me as the years went by?
Did you want to see me - Did you ever try?
When my birthday rolled around were you sad?
Did you remember all the years we could have had?
Are you happy Mother? Do you have a family ?Inside your lonely room , do you cry for me?.
So many thoughts of you - so many tears-
For the lost memories....the lost years.

I want to touch your face, to see that you are real-
See if you look like me.. tell me how you feel.
We are in tears - ..our emotions are so high-
I am just sobbing , so I can't tell you not to cry.
Please let me see you ..meet you face to face-
You can name the time...You can name the place.
I don't want to disrupt your life - please understand-
I just want to hold you - touch my Mothers hand!

So many thoughts of you - so many tears-
For the lost memories - the lost years......

Linda.. (dont worry about the misplaced line)..this really got to me. We take so much for granted in life.. this moved at the sort of pace I would imagine a search would move.. more and more emotional as you get closer. By its end I was weeping. You wrote this so beautifully that I could feel the caller's emotions building until the end when it truly opened up. Powerful write! katy.

This is a wonderful poem, Linda. I'm sure many adopted children dream of finding lost parents in this manner. What I love about your stuff is how you slowly build up emotion. Then, at a certain point, it rushes out like rivers through a dam. Very special.

Powerful piece. I thought what you had fit just fine, but you're right that line should be moved down. Bravo.

I've tried to correct the line Are you happy mother? The inside your lonely room should be one verse lower. This is not how I wrote it. I've resubmitted twice..and it's still this way...at least all the words are here..thats the main thing....Thanks for reviewing!!!!
