Poem Artwork

Homeless man in the street
Ragged and alone
Hoping for a handout
Before this day is gone
He shivers from the cold
Not even a coat to wear
People whisper as they pass by
He tries hard not to care
His face echos a hard life
A tear comes in his eye
I learn to count my blessings
For the grace of God go I..

I saw a man in town
Just the other day
Sitting in a wheelchair
He didn't have to much to say
Bitterness deep within his soul
His heart made of cold stone
Hate living deep inside
He didn't want to go on
But the macho man part of him
Just wouldn't let him cry
I learn to count my blessings
For the grace of God go I...

Man across the street
Lost his precious wife
Gun pointing at his head
He's ready to take his life
He's lost everything
Even the will to live
All hope has left his heart
Nothing left to give
Blood spatters on the walls
Its too late now to cry
I learn to count my blessings
By the grace of God go I...
