A red blanket on my head
Just been bathed and fed
A little baby don't need much
A lot of love, a tender touch
Sometimes I may fuss and cry
Not even knowing the reason why
You overwhelm me with your love
Knowing I was sent from above
Another baby across town
In a dumpster he was found
No one loved him, no one cared
He died alone , cold and scared
Another baby, crying somewhere
Needing love, but no ones there
A baby just can't manage alone
Where has his Mother gone
A scared teenager, she has no hope
Pregnant and cast out, she cannot cope
Abortion seems her only way out
But can she live with going this route
So many babies who don't have a chance
To laugh and love, To play or dance
So many babies, don't you hear their cry
So full of life, they didn't have to die
I am new to this site but I hope to be able
to read more of your poems as time allows
you have such a way of expressing words of
hope even through sadness, God needs a voice
in this day and time. keep working for him
it will pay off. in all very lovely
