Nature & Love = Relationships with acceptance of who we are...

Abruptly being awakened Observed a dove By an opened window Cooing for her mate No less- Lilacs fully bloomed A reminder of sweet love Branches caressed- Like lovers in ecstasy Seeing only themselves In a mirrored image Sweeter was lavender Scenting the sheets Perfumed between two souls- Turning sideways Hands trembled With anticipation Curtains of lace Flapped erratic Pushed the intricate curtains Back and fro... Replaying remnants of love Making love was Like a torrent affair I wanted and only needed You- Lilacs in the spring, Lavender sheets, Lace binded us...Always ��

I remember the lilacs of spring and that sweet fragrance that some women wore as perfume. But I don't recall it bringing romance to me.

Still, I can see how it may have brought romance to you.

A lover, and a lover of nature as well...great poem, and it is hard to tell if the last stanza closes it, or merely opens it to so much more...

Three cheers for that which binds us. In your case . . . "Lilacs in the spring, / Lavender sheets, / Lace binds us...Always." Oh, it is so very good to have that one special thing which bind us to our lover.
