Some people "do age" very well; Willie Nelson, for instance. He can get wrinklier and grizzlier but will keep on looking the part of the wise veteran cowboy. The Sun ain't gonna go down on ol' Willie! even when he's kicked off his boots and hung up his nylon acoustic guitar.
But, as we know, the lived-in female face is not so appreciated by the media and the Hollywood moguls. They want 'babes', flawless skin and Colgate smiles - photogenic they call it. WELL DONE to the Meryl Streep's of the world who continue to work on in their fifties and sixties, still with an allure and added year's of experience. Sophia Loren comes to mind; she wears it well!
Beauty comes from within, doesn't it? Keeping that flame young and live, the spirit of youthfulness. Saying that puts me in mind of Dustin Hoffman in The Fockers, a swinging sixties Dad in contrast to De Niro's uptight security conscious over-protective parent. That was funny!
As I age, get the grey hair and crow's feet, I keep Christy Hennessy's song in mind, I'm happy as I am... "My two eyes go their own way, but I'm happy as I am...."
